The Russian artist, one of the most significant figure in the modern Russian Art. His works are kept in collections of famous Russian and Western museums and foundations.
«Victor Alimpiev works with two medias equally successfully: video and fine art, which at first sight live in different contexts. However , on closer examination, it is getting clear that Alimpiev talks about meticulous examination of time fabric , to be more precise, a strange chronitop, whose structure stratifies like tiny glazes on his picturesque works , sometimes with sinkings , «folds », seizures and patches . Alimpiev’s art hardly be within narrative, a precise description of what is happening on the screen or in the picture (as the artist said, «understandability is servility»). In front of spectators, there are always complicated visual systems, snatches of codes and landmark structures, some kind of metapoetry, unfolding in specific time and space (Е.Inozemtseva).
