The list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (49ART-arteex) - of authors not older than 1960 year of birth , was made by ARTEEX based on their creations evaluation , popularity , commercial activity (their titles, awards , participations in exhibitions and fairs , auctions , mention in art-ratings , presence of their works in museum collections and so on were taken into consideration).
Some authors were included in the list of Best contemporary artists within the programme Discovery (based on expert recommendations), which allows to open new talents to the art-society.
ARTEEX does its best to be objective making the list, but anyway it reflects only subjective position of ARTEEX.
The maximum number of names in the List is – 250 authors (Top-250). Nowadays the list is being supplemented. The list is open. ARTEEX is considering suggestions of including authors in the list of best contemporary artists.

Where the dogs run Group included in the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (ARTEEX). Where the dogs run is not a question, but the name of an art group from Yekaterinburg. Artists Vlad Bulatov, Natalya Grekhova, Olga Inozemtseva, Alexei Korzukhin have been working together since 2000 to create kinetic sculptures, objects, installations, videos and actions that are turned to a large-scale scientific experiment, images of optical and linguistic illusions, and utopias of new technologies. “For the Yekaterinburg art scene, the work of this creative association is unique both in terms of the subject matter and the tools used. The works of the group do not so much correlate with the criticism of institutions, the power of scientific and technological theories and fantasies, as with the personal everyday experience of artists. Art is not understood as conceptualizing one or another aspect of the world order, an analytical effort, as much as a poetic gesture at its core, as an area of mysterious, miraculous and fantasy, play action, which is why each new work is not similar to the previous one. ” (M.
