THE BEST RUSSIAN CONTEMPORARY ARTIST

The list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (49ART-arteex) -  of authors not older than 1960 year of birth , was made by  ARTEEX   based on their creations  evaluation , popularity , commercial activity  (their titles, awards , participations in exhibitions and fairs , auctions , mention in art-ratings , presence of their works in museum collections  and so on  were taken into consideration). 

Some authors were included in the list of Best contemporary artists within the programme   Discovery (based on expert recommendations), which allows to open new talents to the art-society.  

ARTEEX does its best to be objective making the list, but anyway it reflects only subjective position of ARTEEX.

The maximum number of names in the List is – 250 authors (Top-250). Nowadays the list is being supplemented. The list is open. ARTEEX is   considering suggestions of including authors in the list of best contemporary artists.

Olga Kisseleva included in the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (ARTEEX). Olga Kisseleva was born in Saint Petersburg in 1965. She is Professor the Sorbonne University in Paris and Head of Art&Science International Institute. Her art works hover between science and art and consistently challenges the viewer to rethink accepted notions about the world around us. Graduated from the Vera Mukhina Institute of Industrial Art in 1988 Olga Kisseleva continued her studies with a Ph.D. at the Sorbonne in 1996. In the early 1990s, she worked at the University of California and Columbia University in New York, focusing on video art and multi-media. Olga Kisseleva's approach to her work is much the same as a scientist's. She calls upon exact sciences, on genetic biology, geophysics, and also on political and social sciences. She proceeds with her experiments, calculations and analyses, while strictly respecting the methods of the scientific domain in question. Her artistic hypothesis is thus verified and approved by a strictly scientific method. A winner of the International ProArte Prize in Russia, France-Stanford Award in USA, Art&Innovation Award in Spain, Prize Pierre Scheffer and Art&Science Award in France, she has had major exhibitions in Modern Art Museum (Paris, France), KIASMA (Helsinki, Finland), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (Madrid, Spain) La Fondation Cartier for contemporary art (Paris, France), Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris, France), Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao, Spain), Art Institute (Chicago, USA), National Centre for Contemporary Art (Moscow), Louvre Museum (Paris), as well as Dakar Biennale (2002), Tirana Biennale (2003), Moscow Biennale (2011), Istanbul Biennial (2013), Berlin Biennale (2014), Venice Biennale (2015)... Olga Kisseleva works are a part of 25 most important museum's collections, like Centre Pompidou (Paris, France), Louis Vuitton Foundation (Paris, France), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany) Moscow museum of modern art (Moscow, Russia), National Center For Contemporary Art (Moscow, Russia), Getty Centre (Los Angeles, CA) Museum of Modern Art (MoMA, New York City, NY)...
