Ivan Plusch

model.author.description

Ivan Plusch included in the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (ARTEEX). In his artistic practice, Ivan Plusch explores the topic of interaction between the character and the surrounding world. In 2009, feeling the isolation and impossibility of a dialogue between people who were more interested in status surroundings than the person himself, he looks for a visual embodiment of this phenomenon and comes to the idea of changing the focus. The background, which depicts the scenery of our world, is in focus, very clear, precise, but mechanistically flat, and the character spreads out, he seems to be present at work, but we do not see any facial features or figure outlines. So Ivan comes to the two-part structure of the work: the character, made in the technique of "flowing" and the background - the scenery of our life. Characters are people, objects, the sky, unexpected creatures - everything that is looking for contact with the world, but can not stay in it. The rapidity of care, the theme of dying - is becoming one of the most significant for Ivan. It can also be seen in the artist’s installations - “The Process of Passing”, which Ivan Ivy showed in the program “Manifesto, 10” and at the Industrial Biennale in Yekaterinburg. Not surprisingly, the latest developments in the field of immortality and the acquisition of man of eternal life excites the author. In one of his last works - “The Mechanism of Immortality” and “The Promise of Eternal Life” - the artist explores the theme of immortality through falling out of the process of social life - returning to childhood, addressing moments that bring us joy, creating our own inner world that will help the mind to separate from the body and exist forever. As a result, Ivan comes to the study of the disease of autism - as the maximum point of care in the imaginary world. Exploring this question, the author finds in himself ancient features, and poses the question: should we be rational or insane in order to be capable of eternal life? Source: M.Alvitr
