model.author.description

Alisa Yoffe included in the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (ARTEEX). «Contemporary art beats you on eggs » — these are the words, which occurs in mind when you see the works by Alisa Yoffe. Words popular nowadays like «lowfigh » and «punk », having appeared in music, are sneaking into all spheres, and I do hope that in case with Alisa these tendencies come from her soul, but not from the desire to follow trends. In this case, the works of this artist are really close to us, and these are the things that catch us. Firstly, hatred (a punk without hatred can just go to the kitchen) — confrontation of black with white, of evil and kindness (but kindness in this case is colored in black).Secondly, a noise (antimusic on the walls) — sevenths and small secundas in strokes and contours, broken rhythms in every brush movement. Thirdly , a protest — and these are not white ribbons, nut Molotov’s cocktails flying directly to the windows of a police office , or stones , intended to be thrown to the windows of a fur salon . And, at last the era, welcome to Berlin squatters, New York streets, London basements and everything, which comes with them. Of course, a million references to bands of 70-s, obviously the odor of mold, cheap alcohol, herbs and something more disgusting. And all these things, horrible for a philistine, give birth to a wild harmony. This is the harmony, which beats you on eggs, and you feel it and enjoys».
