THE BEST RUSSIAN CONTEMPORARY ARTIST

The list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (49ART-arteex) -  of authors not older than 1960 year of birth , was made by  ARTEEX   based on their creations  evaluation , popularity , commercial activity  (their titles, awards , participations in exhibitions and fairs , auctions , mention in art-ratings , presence of their works in museum collections  and so on  were taken into consideration). 

Some authors were included in the list of Best contemporary artists within the programme   Discovery (based on expert recommendations), which allows to open new talents to the art-society.  

ARTEEX does its best to be objective making the list, but anyway it reflects only subjective position of ARTEEX.

The maximum number of names in the List is – 250 authors (Top-250). Nowadays the list is being supplemented. The list is open. ARTEEX is   considering suggestions of including authors in the list of best contemporary artists.

Vladimir Amodeo is part of the list of the Best Russian contemporary artists (ARTEEX). The visual experience of Vladimir Amodeo contains almost all the discoveries of plastic culture of the 20th and 21st centuries. Its imagery is actualized by the strategies of artistic improvisation, its natural expression of will, but at the same time, it retains disciplinary visual-semantic forms in its dimensions. On the one hand, the artist addresses the phenomenon of the accidental, associated with personal cultural memory, on the other hand, the emerging visual meanings evolve towards light projections, contour and silhouette systems and network structures. The artistic vision of Vladimir Amodeo is located in the border zone between life and art itself, freely crossing these two conditions necessary for creativity in both directions. For his space of experience and artistic reflection, the artist chose the near world - the world described by the English filmmaker Peter Greenaway as an “intimate diary”. Peace and love reign in this world, two symmetrical classical mythologemes, where a creative person seeks to abandon himself, turn into a medium, a mediator between the space of passions and sorrows, living in endless variations among us and the world of ideal states and revelation. Each statement of Vladimir Amodeo is an open, open figure that is capable of shimmering in its contours, changing into other forms, forming a complex pulsating ornament of knots and plexuses in the created sculptural series. In his drama, the symbolic precedes the objective condensation of matter, its concrete image, realizing the biblical phrase "and the light shines in the darkness." The emerging artistic reality announces the readiness of art to call things by their proper names, activating the unconscious and shaping its personal space in a large culture (V. Patsyukov).
